The Ultimate 10 Minute Makeup Routine For Work

Wednesday, September 07, 2016

The last few weeks I've been going to a work trial and have given myself a 10 minute window to do my makeup every morning.

I don't usually take that long to do my makeup anyway, maybe 30-40 minutes, but I did manage to make 10 minutes work for me and I wanted to share my tips.

When you're in a rush, I personally don't like to play around with many new products. I stick to what I know and love. Thats probably the number one tip that I can give! But, here's a product break down of what I use and why.

BASE
My primer hasn't changed and it's still the Benefit Cosmetics Porefessional Matte Rescue*. This has been a favourite of mine for quite a few months now and the reason I love it so much is because it sinks in straight away. It also keeps my face more matte than any other primer that I've tried.

I'm usually all about that liquid foundation life but I found it too heavy and annoying on my skin during work, so I decided to opt for a powder. Because I preferred powder, I had to do my concealing before hand. I used the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Light Pale under my eyes in a small triangle shape and then used my fingers to blend it into my skin.

For my red, active, acne volcano spots, I used the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Pale Yellow*. This is the first spot concealer that I've tried and I'm in love. It really helps reduce the apperance of my breakouts and it doesn't feel heavy on my skin.

The foundation that I used everyday was the bareMinerals Blemish Remedy Foundation in Clearly Silk 05. This stuff is AMAZING. I've used mineral foundations before but this is next level. It covers my skin really well while also looking natural. My skin feels great when I wear it, it doesn't break me out and it actually helps your skin breathe. It has some pretty cool ingredients like Tea Tree and Witch Hazel in it so it's better for pimples too. I definitely give this product a thumbs up and if you have oily / acne prone skin, I think you really need to give this a shot!

BROWS
By this stage, I've probably only taken around 3 minutes and I'm onto my brows. I firstly fill in my brows with the Booki Brow Trio Eyebrow Powder in Light Brown / Blonde* and comb through with Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow to keep my brows in place all day.

DEFINING MA FACE
I then move onto my contour and use my trusty Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette. I'm not sure why, but I then like to apply my highlighter. I stick to what I know and love which is first using Benefit Cosmetics Watts Up and then Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal*. My last move for my face is blush and I'm currently living for the Clinique Cheek Pop in Melon Pop*.

EYES
Ain't no body got time for eyeshadow before 7am so I just completely skip that step. All I do is curl my lashes, apply my L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes in Waterproof and do a line that kind of resembles a wing with my Thin Lizzy Precision Liquid Eyeliner.

LIPS
Last up, I slap on my favourite MAC Cosmetics lipstick of all time which is Cosmo. It's my perfect 'my lips but better' shade and I don't need a mirror to touch up during the day.

So there we have it! My 10 minute makeup routine in the morning before work. Of course when I first started this routine it took around 15-20 minutes, but over time I cut it down and the end look is the exact same.

What's your go to makeup look for work and how long does it take you?
