Clinique Makeup First Impressions

One brand that I haven't tried very much of is Clinique. Around 2 years ago I tried one of their foundations but since then, nothing.

Today's post is a re-introduction to Clinique. I am going to be doing a first impressions on some of their cult favourites and a few of their other goodies that caught my eye.

Because I wanted to take quite the dip into Clinique's Makeup, I decided to pick a couple of lip and cheek goodies, plus one contour product.

Starting with lips, I received the Pop Lip Colour and Primer in #14 Plum Pop* and Chubby Stick Intense in #10 Grandest Guava*. Both products as you can see are very pigmented and smooth.

Plum Pop is a beautiful dark berry lipstick. I haven't worn a berry shade in a long time and after wearing this, I can't remember why! This colour looks so lovely on me and I feel like it's the type of berry shade that would look lovely on a range of skin tones.

Grandest Guava is a lip crayon and is what I'd describe as a very pigmented, lip balm. It's very comfortable to wear and you can easily touch up during the day without a mirror. The colour is a little like a dark burnt orange with small amount of a very small sized sparkle.

Clinique's Cheek Pop's are something that I have seen a lot of online. The blushes have a gorgeous pattern imprinted into them and the colours look very bold. I was actually surprised to find out that the cheek pop's are actually on the more subtle side of blushes. They give your cheeks I guess, well, a 'pop' or flush of colour. Nice, natural and easy to work with.

The Cheek Pop's that I ended up picking up were Melon Pop* and Peach Pop*. Both of these shades are gorgeous but my favourite is Peach Pop because I'm a sucker for peach and coral blushes. For my next cheek pop, my eyes are locked on Rosy Pop.

The last product I decided on is Clinique's #01 Curvy Contour Chubby Stick*. I was so intrigued to see how it would work because I haven't ever used anything like it before. The formula itself applies really easily to the hollows of my cheek and blends like an absolute dream. Unfortunately it is a little too warm for my olive skin complexion. I think if you had light to medium skin, this would look great on you.

Overall, I'm really impressed. I love that Clinique is really accessible because now I can go instore, swatch everything and unfortunately spend lots of my money - oopsies haha!
