Cushion products seem to be all the rage at the moment. I keep seeing more and more cushion foundations popping up, but this is one of the first cushion blushes I have seen. It's also the first cushion blush that I have personally tried. If you've never used, seen or heard of a cushion makeup product before, they're really quite a lot of fun. Imagine the little cushion as a sponge, but instead of being soaked with water, its filled with makeup. You dab a little puff into the sponge to absorb the product and then apply it directly from the puff, to your skin.

When I first opened the product to be honest, I was a teeny bit worried because the colour looked like a super bright, Barbie pink shade. I was concerned it wouldn't suit me but I was luckily surprised. The product begins highly pigmented and the more that you work it into your skin, the lighter and more delicate it becomes. This is a great concept to me because I love the idea of customisation and being able to wear a blush to the pigmentation that I want. The texture is really lovely on the skin and although it goes on feeling slightly wet, it dries to a powdery feel. Longevity wise, I receive the same amount of wear that I would with a regular powder blush.

Before I get into the review of the pencil eyeliner, I want to provide a little bit of context. I'm super oily and out of every pencil eyeliner I have ever tried, none of them have successfully stayed where I placed them. They smudge, flake off, turn into a oily blob or refuse to apply in the first place. Because of this problem, the last couple of years I have just stuck to liquid eyeliners.

I'm so happy because I've finally broken the bad pencil eyeliner curse!! This eyeliner is  extremely smooth to apply but the best part is that it dries 100% waterproof and 100% smudgeproof. I've used this product pretty much every single time I've applied makeup since receiving it and I have never had a problem with it. If you're like me with oily skin and totally rejected the thought of ever using a pencil liner again, you need to try get in store and test out this formula, and then thank me later.

There's quite a lot in this range so I'm going to keep exploring and hopefully find some more great products. You can pick up the Shu Uemura Kye Collection from select David Jones.
